Antonia Woven Huipil
Antonia Woven Huipil
Beautiful huipil from the San Andrés Larrainzar region, Chiapas. This garment is woven and brocaded on a backstrap loom. Among the iconography of the region, the brocade of men and women stands out around the huipil. Another beautiful brocade known as scorpions adorns the shoulders, which is repeated on the back of the huipil, which consists of three canvases that are joined with a fine seam known as a herringbone. One more detail of this fine piece is that the manufacturing material is 100% cotton. The preparation time for this delicate handmade piece was approximately 8 weeks and it was woven by the talented hands of Master Antonia Hernández.
